Social Media... Is it a fad??

I came across this video as I was going through my Facebook links. This is from my boy Erik Qualman, author of Socialnomics. If you haven't read it yet, do so! It is a great book and this video will definitely raise your eyebrow! Enjoy!

Google Chrome Review updated

Ok, so I reviewed the Google Chrome browser last month and promised you an update. Well I am a creature of habit sometimes and have that "If it isn't broke don't fix it" attitude. I used Chrome for about 2 days as my default web browser and then switched back to Mozilla Firefox. Well long and short, I decided to give Chrome another try as I am now getting into customizing my web browser and enjoying adding plugin tools and I must say, Chrome is by far one of the coolest web experiences I have encountered. It allows you to choose from several different themes which are very easy to apply and what I really like about it is the plugin tools that Chrome offers!

I am using the Chromed Bird, GMail and Facebook plugins and they are awesome!! Chromed Bird shows when you have new tweets and allows you full tweeting capabilities directly from the plugin. Same goes for the GMail & Facebook plugins.
These are really cool tools and make web browsing much faster and easier and more fun!
So that's my full review of the Chrome web browser. I hope you like the review and feel free to post your comments or questions and also don't forget to subscribe to my site!

Thanks!

The Month In Social Media

  1. So the last month has been a fun one when it comes to my different trials on various social media sites and iPhone / computer apps. Let's start out with the first one being my interest in trying out a new Twitter app for my iPhone called TwitBird. I posted a review on this excellent little app earlier on the site and I am still using the app. It is even better now as I have learned all the different possibilities it provides. For those of you who are unhappy with the Twitter app you are currently using on your iPhone, go download TwitBird for free from the App Store and give it a try! You will not be disappointed!
  2. Next I will talk about probably my biggest change and that was moving my domain (nickpepera.com) from Tumblr to Posterous. This was a difficult choice for me as I really do like Tumblr but when it comes to more customization and ease of use, I decided to go with Posterous! This service is awesome. I allows you to email your blog posts right to them and attach whatever file you want and they create your post for you! It also gives you the ability to host your site for free (Tumblr does this as well) but I really like the layout of the blog templates and the customization options much better than Tumblr. Also I just found out that any of the videos you post on your Posterous are viewable on an iPhone! On a side note, I have emailed Posterous support twice and have gotten answers from them almost instantly, whereas with Tumblr it took several days to hear back and without a resolution to my issue.
  3. I signed up for Vimeo's video service and I really like it with the exception of not being able to record your own videos directly to the site. I am able to do this on my Viddler account so I continue to use it but all my video posts will be posted to my Vimeo account as well as my YouTube account so no big deal. (Thanks again Posterous!) :)
  4. Last night I signed up for the service called blippr. It is an online review site that allows you to post a 160 word review of any music, movie, book, app or game. I intend on using this service quite a bit so I will post later with an update. But for now it looks really cool and really easy to use and integrates right into your Twitter and Facebook accounts.
  5. Another cool iPhone application I tried is Gowalla. I really like the idea behind this because it allows you to "Check In" to your favorite or different places and you collect pins the more times you go to a specific place which then gives you the opportunity to get discounts, etc. I will post more on this one as I continue to use it.

Cheers~

Awesomeness!

If you are into creative marketing and advertisement then you need to be following Fuel Brand Inc. I follow their CEO Adelle Charles on Twitter @adellecharles and she posted the link to one of her associates posts from their Fuel Your Creativity blog this morning. This video was on it which I found to be truly amazing! There are several other videos on the post but this one was my favorite! Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!

Cheers!

So I decided to try out Hootsuite to help manage my Social Media postings and account management and I have to say that it is pretty amazing. I love that it is a web based application and the customizability of it is awesome!
Hootsuite handles multiple accounts seamlessly such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Ping.FM and even Wordpress.com!
It gives you the ability to breakdown your social streams with statistics and even lets you select and adjust the location of all of your columns by simply clicking and dragging them where you want them to be. Very cool!
Here is the video tutorial from the Hootsuite website that shows you in detail what this excellent service can do for you. Oh and did I mention... It's completely FREE!!!???
